Happy Easter!

When you make your own cards, you can tailor them for each person!  I know many who will appreciate a religious Easter card, and a few who need the Good News in a more cutesy look.

Tailor a card for anyone!

This is a card I made to thank Kyle at the Vortic Watch Company.  We were in Fort Collins, Colorado, and he kindly met with us and gave a tour of the shop.  This amazing group is saving American antique pocket watches and re-creating them into bespoke wrist watches!

Not only does this appeal to my love of good craftsmanship, I love the thought of saving these antiques.  Check out their site!

Marlayn Giron - Author, Inspiration, Friend

I recently met a dear lady named Marlayne and we hit it off immediately!  Her husband plays the guitar in the praise band at my church and we happened to sit next to each other at a church outing to a baseball game.  Marlayne and I talked the whole time!  Not only is she sweet and friendly and a light of Christ, she is an author of some really wonderful books!

I made this card for her by printing out tiny book covers and gluing them onto the stamped books.  She has a new book coming out in the Fall so I'll make her another card to include that one too!  This set is really versatile as it has different types of shops.  "Let's Go Shopping" is a bundle on sale right now for 10% off if you get the stamps and dies.  You'll want both for sure.  It offers great variety and is a lot of fun to play with as you can create different scenes with the elements.

In Memory of John de Ruiter

John was a dear friend, world adventurer, amazing photographer, faithful servant of the Lord, wonderful husband-father-grandfather, and all around delightful man who made a big impact on all who met him.  He was a fixture of Community Lutheran Church and will be dearly missed.  We grieve for our loss here, but also appreciate that he truly lived life to the fullest and lived over 91 years up to the last moment.  He was on yet another adventure, this time snorkeling off of Panama when he joined his beloved wife in Heaven.

I needed to make a special card fitting of him.  The first one I made with the new Stampin' Up! Picturesque set and sent each to his daughter and son and the second was to his granddaughter whom I had met and I knew he was like a mighty oak in her life.  The beauty of card making is that you can tailor something special to reflect the person and occasion!  I know this isn't a typical sympathy card, but John really was bigger than life and travelled the world capturing beautiful photographs of wildlife and landscapes.  It was because of him that we started The Adventurers' Club!   I love to cook and entertain so we'd have a dinner party and then John would share his latest adventure in a slide show complete with his witty commentary.  He usually took special National Geographic Photography tours so we all felt we got smarter as we relived his adventure from the comfort of our family room.

Inside the cards is a large gold cross I die cut using the Hold on to Hope set's large slender cross cut out of Stampin' Up! gold foil paper.  John was an avid servant of God with me and we often would be at church volunteering.  Sometimes it was just the two of us stacking chairs, which could be a chore, but he always had me laughing and made it fun.

Memorial Day

This is one of our card making kits to the nursing home.  It's a simple design with a big impact!  For the kit, I provided the flowers already punched and the panel stamped with the green stems.  I also provided the little bows pre-tied.
  • A simple technique for shaping flowers adds interest
  • The Stampin' Up! red rhinestones really make it pop
  • The sentiment is set up on foam adhesive dots
  • Stampin' Up! has many options of flower stems
  • These stems are from the Bouquet Builder set
Instructions

Help your local seniors in the nursing home!

As seniors have had to be confined to their rooms, they welcome the opportunity to craft and create and reach out to their loved ones!  You can make a card making kit with Stampin' Up! supplies and add on inexpensive necessities such as glue sticks from the Dollar Tree.  It's a fun challenge to think of something that is easy enough to do by following written instructions.  Prepare the pieces and let them assemble them into finished cards!

Here are two examples created for Community Lutheran Church to give to their neighbors in the nursing home.  Click on the button for a link to the instructions.
Easter Card Mother's Day Card

Spring Wreath

Cards are such a wonderful art form!  You can take an idea and with small changes it can be perfect for different occasions and friends!  I get as much enjoyment from creating them as I get from hearing happy responses from my friends who receive them!

Easter Wreath

This utilizes a few different sets and some are discontinued.  But don't worry!  Stampin' Up! always has something new on the horizon so you can count on more opportunities to make similar cards.

Simple version

I decided to make a lot more Easter cards and I was planning to add the punched flowers, but when I looked at it I decided I just really liked this simple design.  It's even prettier in person!

Purple Posy
Hack!

Use Highland Heather stamped off to match the Purple Posy paper!

Lantern dies on Clearance!

I love to challenge myself to making a card with just the dies.  Some work better than others and the Lantern Builder is one of those!  This card also uses the Colorful Seasons dies, rectangular shapes dies, and the sentiment from Blooms & Wishes.  Get your clearance and retiring items while they last!

Discover Paper Pumpkin!

I had such fun creating cards with this kit!  I needed a nice hostess gift that I could make quickly.  I was so impressed with the quality, the packaging, and the fact that it had everything I needed so that I could simply make the cards while sitting at my kitchen counter!

You can customize!

I wasn't sure I'd want to make cards from a pre-made kit because I do enjoy designing my own, but what is especially nice in these Paper Pumpkin kits is that you get a stamp set that allows you to create cards based on your needs!  I made this set for my sister-in-law and was able to add in a couple Mother's Day cards for her since it's right around the corner!  You can see what else I did.  They even give plenty of adhesive dots and dimensional as well as extra sentiment tags that you can use on other projects!

A little lace

I love this little card!  Rococo Rose, white and vanilla combine for a soft old fashioned look that is still modern!  Get the bundle so you can die cut your own lace!  The complimenting lace ribbon adds the perfect touch!

Best Catch

The Best Catch and Catch of the day stamp set and dies are a great set for masculine cards or a lover of fishing!  I made this card for a friend's husband who had been released from the hospital and needed a boost as he has a tedious road of healing ahead.

Bathroom redo for Christmas!

I wish I had thought of this before the holiday!  I am hiding some Caribbean art we got on our Honeymoon which really doesn't go with my Christmas decor.  This was such an easy fix that I did last night in a short time.  I'm sure you could do something much nicer with more time!

Recipes

I call them "recipes" because that's just what they are! As in cooking, you can follow a recipe and give it your own twist, or follow it exactly and recreate the same thing.  This link will take you to my gallery of card images.  Click on any card to get the recipe.  If it isn't there at the moment, it's because I'm in the process of transferring them from my scratch paper into a nice format for you to follow!
